About Our Market

Raised in the rich history of Iran, Amin, the owner of Kaz Kitchen, developed a love for cooking and community early on.  His travels brought him to Canada where he jumped at the chance to learn and train with some of the best Ottawa had to offer.  After completing his trainings, he spent years fine-tuning his skills and exploring the world of fine, local, and seasonal dining with the chefs at Fraser Cafe, Table40 and Fairouz.  Kaz Kitchen was born during a summer spent working with the Beechwood market, rekindling his love of community connection.  Lauzon's on Guiges was another Grocery store and café with a rich history of local connections and community cuisine.  Finding out that the business was for sale, Amin took a chance and jumped in, giving Kaz Kitchen a new home, and ensuring a community would keep its local gems. 

 

The pandemic arrived shortly after, and Kaz Kitchen rose to the challenge.  By listening to the needs of the community Amin worked hard to bring in what they needed: fresh local produce and bakery, gluten-free and vegan options, and family friendly staples.  He renovated the kitchen space and was soon able to share his culinary skills, offering new twists on grill, seasonal pre-prepared meals (fresh and frozen) and to-order catering.
